As a scrapbooker, at times, this could be a fairly expensive hobby. You tend to buy more stuff than you really need or your can really use. I have read it from elsewhere that said - you can plan ahead and only buy what you need. Yes, it's a good way to go - but when you see 50% off from Michael's or Joann's, can you really convince yourself not to buy extra?
I have a weakness when it comes to see clearance item that I *think* I can use. After I got it home, 90% chance I would forget what I really bought it for or what was the intended purpose when I picked it up.
As a result of my weakness, I now have piled up literally tons of stuff at home that I would never finished using before I'm done with my first book.
However, as I have learned, getting it organized help to figure out what and when I need to stop buying - even I see that on sale for 99% off. I'd say I'm 90% organized with my stuff - so believe or not - for the last 3 months, I haven't bought as much as I need (or don't need!)
While getting organized, I get to know better of what I have and instantly in my mind trying to figure out the best use of what I have at hand. It certainly helps to come up with different scrapbooking ideas - but remember - get a notepad to write down what you want to scrap before you forget.
After everything is organized, I have a much better sense of what I have, and where things are - it boost my confidence level up a notch that I'm ready to go!

Suggestion to dads: Getting organized is extremely important for scrapbooking. Even you only have a bag or two of things, trust me, getting it organized will help you a long way. Just imagine all your nails and screws are all in one box when you are about to put something together...

Hello World!
Wow! Finally, got this thing setup for my first blog entry!
Let's see.. I need to introduce myself...
Hi! My name is Ken. I am a married father with a lovely 5-year-old daughter. She's the loveliest thing a dad can ever ask for. She's the reason why I'm doing scrapbook.. it's really to create a book for her. My plan is to create 4-5 pages per year, and by the time when she's 18 - I'll have a book of at least 72 pages to hand over as her birthday present! Happy Sweet 18!
Now, most of my friends have been wondering.. Wait a minute.. why are you doing this?? Errr... shouldn't this be done by the mom? Why are you dad doing it?? Good question.. and that's one of the very reason why I'm doing this blog. I want others to know, it's not a bad thing for dad to say, "Hi! One of my hobby is Scrapbooking!" Believe me, this isn't a bad thing or a thing to be shy or embarrassed to tell others. Scrapbooking isn't limited to only mom/grandma to do - a man, or a loving dad can do it too!
Throughout this blog, I'll share with you my experience as a scrapbooking dad - the journey in putting this 72-page scrapbook together.
I'll also share with you what I find best to use, or where I can find some good deals, and of course - feel free to leave a comment to share with others on what you've used or whatever you wanna share with others... especially ME - the scrapbooking dad!
